Roy Schreiner\, the East Pennsylvania Eldershi p made arrangements with the Lutheran Synod to utilize its campsite\, Nawa kwa\, for one week during the summer of 1934.  Rev. Schreiner served as Dean of Camps.   This arrangement was continued each summer through 1946 when the Lutheran site was no longer available to our denomination.\nIn N ovember of 1946\, the East Pennsylvania Eldership purchased the facilities and surrounding property at the Doubling Gap Center.  Preparations were made\, and in 1947\, Camp YoliJwa held its first summer camping season wit h 3 weeks of camp.  Today\, the YoliJwa program includes 15 different wee k-long\, resident camps each summer along with 8 weekend retreats througho ut the year.  God is Good!
